How waterproof is your clothing?
I’m going to start this article by stating a little known fact: You’re only as waterproof as your weakest item of clothing.
What this means in a real wold application is say for example you’re walking to the bus stop from your house, it’s pouring it down with rain and you’re wearing a waterproof jacket, a pair of standard black trousers and a pair of brown Leather shoes. Your waterproof jacket is going to keep the top half of your body dry, however your legs and feet are going to be wet through. (Obviously this is dependent on the amount of time that you are going to spend outside in the rain).
BHI Workwear will advise on waterproofing and its every day application so each customer will be clear.
Is a waterproof jacket enough?
What I’m trying to get across here is that if you are looking to purchase a waterproof jacket for when the skies open up and you aren’t going to be outside for more than an hour then it may be worthwhile for you take a look at the Regatta Hydroforce Softshell Jacket. Officially these jackets are not “waterproof”, they are however highly water resistant. This means that it may not keep you dry if you are outside in the rain for hours at a time, but it will keep you dry if you want a warm and comfortable jacket to wear if you plan on walking for the bus every morning to get to work.
If however you are going to be outside in the pouring rain for a long period of hours, say for example you are a Builder, then you’re going to want something for heavy duty and applicable to your needs. The Regatta Hydroforce Softshell Jacket is going to keep you dry, warm and is not restrict any movement whatsoever whilst working outdoors, this jacket coupled with a pair of Regatta Packaway Overtrousers will keep you dry (and ultimately warm) if you are going to be outdoors in the rain for a prolonged period of time.
Regatta Construct fully waterproof workwear clothing
The fully waterproof option is always going to be more expensive when placed side by side to its water resistant counterpart, but you have to keep in mind that “you get what you pay for”. Would you rather have saved a couple of pounds on a jacket and find that you’re going to get wet, or would you rather have spent that little bit more to get the peace of mind that you have purchased a Jacket that is going to perform and keep you dry.
